If its just me and my 6 year old girl, I always prefer smoothies as an option for my breakfast. Introducing fruits and vegetables in your diet helps cardiovascular health. It also helps in reducing weight and prevents some type of cancer. Smoothies are one ideal way of getting your food and vegetable intake in one sitting. Among different options, carrot apple smoothie could be one of the healthy breakfast options. It is easy, low in calories and high in Vitamin A.

The delicate flavor of carrot can be easily masked with other fruits like apples, oranges, ginger and mango. Carrots also add a great nutritional element and on the other hand, smoothies add to your taste bud.
To make 2 large glasses:

- 3 medium carrot sliced
- 2 apples crunchy, peeled and cored
- Celery stick
- Lemon juice- 1 small lemon
- water 1/2 c to 3/4 c
- pinch of ground cinnamon
- pinch of ground cardamom
- Ice cubes
Preparation time: 10 minutes. You don’t need any special equipment to make a smoothie, just a blender.
Directions : Wash all fruits properly and do not peel the carrot or apples. Many of the nutrients are in the skin and the smoothie does not taste different in either way. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Add more water if you desire thin smoothie. Pour in a glass and garnish it with a piece of lemon.
Don’t pack your smoothie with sweet ingredients like ice cream or honey or too much frozen fruit will also add to excessive sugar intake.
