What You’ll Need (The Ingredients): 1 pre-made bread loaf, you can use Vienna or sourdough. Sourdough works best because of its density. It will hold itself more the bread pieces get pulled off.-3/4 cup melting-type cheese, like Mozzarella (but make sure you shred it first!). Mozzarella is recommended if the desired effect is to stretch out as you pull apart the bread pieces (extra cheesy!).
The Garlic Butter- 100g /3.5oz / 7 tbsp softened unsalted butter- 2 large minced garlic cloves- 3/4 tsp salt- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parsley
How To Make It (The Directions): First pre-heat your oven to 180C/350F.- Combine the salt, butter and garlic in a bowl. Then melt the ingredients in the microwave. Make sure it is heatproof! Then stir the parsley through.- Cut the bread diagonally, like you would French sticks for garlic bread, into 2cm/1″ diamonds. No need to cut all the way through.- Using a knife (or your own fingers!) open up each crack and pour in tsp of the butter and sprinkle a little bit of the cheese. You can also use the knife to spread a bit of the butter on top of the bread – so good!- Wrap the bread with aluminum foil and bake it for fifteen minutes. Watch if the cheese has mostly melted. Unwrap, bake for another five minutes. This will give the bread that extra crunchiness.- Serve right away.
Note: If you want to make this the night before, you can just wrap it in foil and cling wrap and keep it in the fridge until you are ready to bake it. Then follow the instructions for baking.
